Drain Basins are used as a collection point typically where two or more drain lines converge. Drain basins allow for inlet/outlet changes in diameter, changes of pipe type, changes in elevation, changes in direction and allows for a water inlet and sediment collection point entering a drainage system. Drain basin structures are manufactured from PVC pipe stock utilizing a thermo-molding process to ensure a tight pipe to structure fit that will meet or exceed the pressure requirements of 10.8 psi per ASTM D3212 “Standard Specification for Joints for Drain and Sewer Plastic Pipes Using Flexible Elastomeric Seals” conforming to ASTM F477.
Inline drains are used at the beginning of a drainage system line or when adding a new inlet to an existing line using a riser and a tee or elbow. Inline Drains are inexpensive to install and allow for field adjustments if necessary. Macon Plastics’ Inline Drains can be connected to any type of PVC pipe as well as corrugated HDPE pipe.
Traffic rated frame and grates are manufactured to meet H-20 highway loads. Below are some of the many grate styles we offer:
Watertight fitting joints are specified to meet a laboratory pressure test of 10.8 psi per ASTM D-3212. These joints are designed to prevent infiltration of soil and exfiltration of storm water. The joints have a bell-bell design and incorporate an ASTM F-477 elastomeric rubber gasket.
